Individual College Supplement Essay

Each college asks its own supplemental essay questions. These questions serve to demonstrate what the applicant knows about the school, its academics and community, and how they plan to contribute to college life there.

Our Process:

  • In the consultation, we determine what the school is seeking with its prompt. We then assist the applicant in creating a structure for their essay.
  • When we receive the first draft we discuss what works and what doesn’t. The applicant uses our notes and suggestions to write another draft.
  • Next up is one more review of their draft. This is where we point out mistakes and errors in the essay.

If the personal statement serves as a personal interview, the supplemental essay is the follow-up. It is often more scrutinized by admissions officers as it is specific to the school.

“My wife and I were never involved in the essays, which is exactly how we wanted it! You’ll definitely be hearing from us next year with our younger daughter.”
