Q: How important is the essay really?
A: Very! Think about it, you have about 5 minutes, the time it takes for admissions officers to read the personal statement. A good story, well told, which tells them who you are and what kind of student you will be on campus has more power than you know. Take it seriously. Spend more time thinking about it than actually writing it.
